Tania had received her training with the Secret Service of East Germany. She was very knowledgeable in Latin American Affairs and knew many of the languages spoken there. Hence this woman spy was recommended by the Germans spy organization, MFS, to the Russian KGB. Then she started to work for Russia. She fell in love with a Cuban Guerrilla leader, Che Guevara, and she started working for him also.

Along with Mata Hari and Cynthia, Tamara Bouqest, alias Tania, has been the most talked about “sex spy”. She was a very brilliant and successful spy who worked for three countries simultaneously. She loved Che Guevara, the most famous revolutionary leader of the time, and worked for him also. The Imperialist countries hold her responsible for the death of Che Guevara, but the communist countries respect her as a very great patriot and a Guerrilla fighter of great courage. It is said that she sacrificed herself along with Che Guevara for the sake of Guerrilla revolution.

After Cube, Che Guevara wanted to establish Communist rule over the entire Latin American countries by carrying on Guerrilla warfare. He made plans first for Bolivia and then Argentina. Tania gave him the greatest possible help, but unfortunately the plan was failed.

According to an American journalist, Denial James, Tania had been deputed by the German Secret Service, MFS and the Russian KGB to keep watch over the activities of Fidel Castro and Che Guevara and report about their plans. Along with this Tania also worked for Che Guevara in Bolivia. Denial James is of the opinion that her love for Che Guevara was only a show, in reality she was his greatest enemy, and responsible for his death.

Tania (Tamara Burke) was born in Argentinean city Buenos Aires on 19th November 1937. She became a Communist in her very youth. Her father was a professor I East Berlin and her mother was a Polish Jew. They had both fled from Germany to escape Nazi atrocities and had settled in Argentina. In 1952 they returned to East Germany. Here the fifteen years old Tania received regular training as a Communist. After graduating from the State Gymnasium she studied Marxist philosophy very thoroughly in the University of Berlin. During her student days she was an active member of an organization called “The Free German Youth”. Later on she became an official in the Latin American Youth Bureau. At that time she used to work as an interpreter for the political leaders going to Latin America.
