The Miraculous Car of Archduke Francis Ferdinand
The Miraculous Car of Archduke Francis Ferdinand |
If you ask, “What is the connection between a curse and the victim’s clothes, house, car, pen, etc.?” the simple answer of this question, “Obviously nothing”, a scientific mind may claim. Yet there are many records of houses, cars, castles, particular types and color of clothes that seem to have brought unimaginable disaster to their owners. What exactly is the connection between them?
The world of unnatural happening is really unbelievable. Luck or ill-luck seems to be surrounded in certain objects: clothes, cars, houses, pens, art-pieces, etc. there is no scientific theory about them, yet the strange incidents have been reported throughout the world and are found connected with them.
However, a connection does seem to exist, so much so that according to some, a ‘”cursed” car was responsible for the World War I and subsequent deaths of its owners.
Archduke Francis Ferdinand and his wife on that car |
A well known case of ill-lucks associated with the car of the Archduke Francis Ferdinand. He was heir to the throne of Austria and Hungry. Archduke Francis Ferdinand and his wife were traveling in a car when they were assassinated in it in 1914. The murder proved to be too costly. It gave birth to the World War I. nobody cursed the cat at that time.
Later it was bought by General Oskar Potiorek of the Austrian army. But apparently the car had the magical powers of bringing ill-luck to its owner. A few weeks later, this brave General Oskar Potiorek suffered a crushing defeat at Valjevo. He could not bear the shock and disgrace and lost his mental balance. He died as an insane man.
However, the journey of the car was not yet complete. An Austrian captain bought it. And within a short time, the rock of ill-luck fell on him. He first killed two peasants, lost control of the car, bumped against a tree and then he fractured his neck.
General Oskar Potiorek |
After the War, the car was bought by the Governor of Yugoslavia. As long as the car stayed with him, a trail of accidents took place. In just four months, four fatal accidents occurred. The Governor also lost his hand in an accident. He became superstitious and sold the car to a doctor. The doctor could enjoy the luxury of the car just for six months. Later he was crushed to death inside it. The next victim was a wealthy jeweler, who committed suicide. The next owner-victim was a Swiss racing driver. He was killed in a race when the car threw him over a wall. The next unfortunate owner was a Siberian farmer. The car’s last owner was a garage owner Tibor Hirshfeld. He was killed along with his four friends in an accident.
After such a long list of unfortunate incidents, the car’s fate was sealed. It was taken to the Vienna museum. Since then it is there and no untoward incident has happened in the museum.
There is no doubt such mysterious and unique cases puzzle the common man. They motivate scientists to perform long and difficult experiments in search of the truth. But their efforts have not been successful so far in this direction.
